DESCRIPTION:Session Outline\n\nReading academic texts and taking effective 
 notes are essential skills for university success. In this session\, you'll 
 explore practical strategies for finding reliable academic sources\, 
 reading with purpose\, and organising your notes more effectively. You'll 
 also be introduced to digital tools that can help you study smarter and 
 manage information efficiently. By the end of the session\, you'll have a 
 toolkit of techniques you can put into practice straight away.   \n\nWho is 
 this session for?\nThe Learning Essentials series is for students new to 
 higher education (e.g. Foundation Year or Year 1) or returning to study 
 after a break. These beginner-friendly workshops help you build 
 confidence\, develop essential study skills\, and learn about available 
 support before moving on to more specialist guidance from the library’s 
 learning skills teams. You can attend all four sessions or choose the ones 
 that suit you. \n\nOnline session:\nThis session will be delivered online 
 via Microsoft Teams. You’ll receive the link to join in the confirmation 
 email. When the session is due to start\, click on the link and sign in 
 using your University student email address and password (if you are not 
 already logged into Teams). During the session\, you'll be able to ask 
 questions and take part using the chat and Q&A features\, making it easy to
